EAGLES AND ROCKETS TO MEET IN REMATCH: The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team will be seeking revenge when it hosts the University of Toledo Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Convocation Center. Toledo won the first meeting this year, 69-57, Jan. 17, in Toledo, Ohio. EMU had two double-figure scorers in the first battle, with redshirt sophomore Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) scoring 14 while junior center Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville) adding 10. Toledo was paced by Justin Anyijong with 17 while Tyrone Kent added 13 and Jonathan Amos chipped in with 12.

MAC SEASON WINDING DOWN: The 2008-09 Mid-American Conference men's basketball season is coming to a close, as all 12 league squads will have four games left on the regular schedule. The regular season is set to end Sunday, March 8, with a full round of six games. That final day will have a dramatic impact on seeding for the MAC Tournament which is set to begin Tuesday, March 10, at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. EMU will close out its regular season at Ball State while Central Michigan will play at Western Michigan, Northern Illinois is slated to play at Toledo, Miami is at Buffalo, Ohio plays at Bowling Green, and Akron is at Kent State.

BOWDRY ON THE DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Redshirt sophomore Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) turned in the fourth double-double of the season and the fifth of his career with 15 points and 12 rebounds to help EMU record a 65-57 win at Bowling Green, Feb. 15. Bowdry has scored in double figures 37 times and has had double-figure rebound games six times during his 59-game EMU career.

FOR THE 112th TIME: The 2008-09 season is the 112th of intercollegiate basketball for the Eastern Michigan University Eagles. Eastern played its first season in 1897-98 and split games with Detroit, losing a 2-0 decision before coming back for a 4-0 victory. The 2008-09 season will also be the 35th for the Eagles in the Mid-American Conference. The first year of MAC play for EMU was 1974-75 when the then-Hurons went 12-14 overall and 4-9 in the league. EMU has won three Mid-American Conference titles: 1987-88, 1990-91, and 1995-96, and the Green and White captured MAC Tournament crowns in all three of those years in addition to winning the tournament title in 1997-98.

EMU AND TOLEDO: EMU and Toledo will be meeting for the second time this season when the two tangle Wednesday, Feb. 25, in the Convocation Center in Ypsilanti, Mich. Toledo won the first meeting, 69-57, Jan. 17, in Toledo, Ohio.
The Eagles enter the game with a 4-23 overall record and a 2-10 league mark. The Eagles dropped a 63-58 non-conference BracketBuster decision to a visiting Georgia State University squad Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Convocation Center.
Redshirt sophomore Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) continues to lead the Eagles in both scoring in rebounding at 14.7 ppg and 7.0 rpg.
Toledo will head to Ypsilanti Wednesday with a 5-22 overall record and a 3-9 MAC mark. The Rockets are led by the duo of Tyrone Kent and Jonathan Amos. Kent is averaging 14.6 points a game while Amos is at 13.7 ppg. Justin Anyijong is Toledo's leading rebounder with 6.8 caroms per game. The Rockets dropped their BracketBuster game Saturday, Feb. 21, falling by a 69-62 count at Indiana State.

THE SERIES: EMU and Toledo will be meeting for the 83rd time in men's basketball history when the two squads square off Wednesday,Feb. 25, here in the Convocation Center. Toledo won this year's first meeting, 69-57, Jan. 17, in Toledo, Ohio. The two teams splitin 2007-08, with EMU notching a 68-44 win on Jan. 22, 2008 in Ypsilanti and Toledo bouncing back to record a 72-63 victory, March 4, 2008, in Toledo. Toledo has won seven of the last 10.

BOWDRY DOUBLE-FIGURE STREAK SNAPPED: EMU redshirt sophomore Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) saw his 19-game double-figure scoring streak snapped when he tallied just seven points in a 63-58 loss to Georgia State Saturday, Feb. 21. Bowdry has scored in double figures 24 times this season and has led the team in scoring 19 times while finishing as the top rebounder in 15 contests. He recorded his fourth double-double of the season and fifth in his career with 15 points and 12 rebounds at Bowling Green Sunday, Feb. 15.

CLIMBING THE CHARTS: Junior center Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville) and redshirt sophomore Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) continue to climb the EMU career scoring and rebounding lists. Dobbins is the 56th player in school history to reach the 700-point plateau with 710 in his 83-game EMU career. That total ranks in a tie for 52nd in school history and his 376 career rebounds is good for 44th.
Bowdry has scored 664 career points in his 59-game career to rank 63rd and his 363 rebounds is good for the 46th spot.

LONG-RANGE BEST: EMU's 10 three-point field goals at Bowling Green Sunday, Feb. 15, is a season's best effort for the Eagles.
