SPLIT WEEKEND IN STORE FOR EMU VOLLEYBALL: The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team will have a rare split weekend in store, as they travel Thursday, Oct. 29, to Mount Pleasant, Mich. to face instate rival Central Michigan University. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. at Rose Arena. Then Saturday, Oct. 31, the Eagles will be home to host Ohio University, the defending Mid-American Conference Tournament Champions, for a 3 p.m. contest on Halloween.
EAGLES AND CHIPPEWAS RENEW RIVALRY: In-state rivals EMU and CMU are hooking up for the 69th meeting in the all-time series. Central Michigan holds a 50-18 edge in the series, including winning the earlier meeting 3-2 (18-25, 25-20, 19-25, 25-22, 10-15) at the Convocation Center, Sept. 25.
EMU LOOKS TO END AN EIGHT-MATCH DROUGHT VERSUS OHIO: On Saturday, Oct. 31, the Eagles will be looking to end an eight match losing skid to the Bobcats dating back to the 2002 campaign, when Ohio notched a 3-2 decision in Athens, Ohio, Oct. 5. Last season, Ohio pulled out a five-set thriller in Athens, Ohio, Oct. 25, 2008. The Eagles last win over the Bobcats was a 3-0 home sweep, Oct. 19, 2001.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Green and White have enjoyed the friendly confines of the EMU Convocation Center over the past eight seasons, posting a 63-31 mark in the “Nest,” including two home victories this season.
