Men's Track Picked to Win Outdoor Title, Women Picked to Finish Ninth

The men's team seek their 21st title this spring, while the women's team hopes
The 2008 men's squad, under the direction of head coach Brad Fairchild returns 2007 All-MAC selections in senior Eric Alejandro (Pembroke Pines, Fla.-Flanagan) and juniors David Brent (Monroe-Mich.-St. Mary's Catholic) and Josh Karanja (Ottawa, Canada-Nepean).
On the women's side, the Eagles, under second-year head coach Sue Parks, return Janice Keppler, the 2007 pole vault champion, as well as Andrea Wheeler (Suffolk, Va.-Lakeland) a five-time MAC scorer (indoor and outdoors) in the hurdles. Junior Melissa Green (Brecksville, Ohio-Brecksville Broadview Heights) finished fifth in the 5,000 meters and sixth in the steeplechase last year.

The men's team opens up the 2008 outdoor season April 4-5 as a handful of distance athletes will travel to the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., while the remainder of the squad will compete in the annual dual against rival Central Michigan University April 5.
The women's team opens the season April 4-5 at the Stanford Invitational as well.
