Eagles finish runner-up in three events
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind.- After one day in the books at the Purdue Challenge, the Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team is down 129-35 to the Boilermakers of Purdue at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center.
Purdue won every event on the first day of competition en route to taking a commanding lead. The 200 freestyle relay team started the evening off with a second place finish, only two seconds behind the first-place PU team.
The Eagles had a pair of runner-up finishes in the individual events, with freshman Samantha Partridge (Carmel, Ind.-Carmel) placing second in the 500 freestyle while Ashley Durand (Lincoln, Neb.-Southeast) did the same in the 100 breaststroke.
The two teams will conclude their meet tomorrow, Nov. 15, at noon.
