Woodrum Named MAC Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Senior Aimee Woodrum was named Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week for the period ending March 4, the conference office announced Thursday night. This marks the second time in her career that she has won the weekly honor.
Woodrum posted a 3.72 ERA over six appearances. She threw three complete games. The senior pitcher logged 26.1 innings while totaling 23 strikeouts. Woodrum went 1-2 over the week.
In a 7-6 loss to the University of South Florida (Feb. 27), Woodrum pitched the final 4 and 2/3 innings. She recorded a career-high nine strikeouts, while facing just 16 batters. The nine strikeouts in relief gave her 207 for her Green and White career. She became just the seventh player in Eastern Michigan University softball history to record over 200 strikeouts. Later in the week, Woodrum also became the seventh player in school history to log over 300 innings throwing 301 and 1/3 in her career.
The EMU softball team will be idle this week and will not return to the diamond until Saturday, March 17, for a doubleheader at Louisville. The Eagles recently wrapped up a 10 day tour of Florida where they played 14 games posting a 3-11 record, including winning the final two games of the trip.
