MEN’S SWIMMING COMPETES FOR MAC CHAMPIONSHIP: The Eastern Michigan University men’s swimming and diving team will return to the pool to compete for the Mid-American Conference Championship, Feb. 22-24. The 2007 championship will be held hosted by the University at Buffalo in Alumni Arena Natatorium.
WOMEN WIN SECOND CONSECUTIVE MAC TITLE: The EMU women’s swimming and diving team captured its second consecutive MAC Championship, Feb. 17, in Jones Natatorium. Madeleine Pilchard earned her second consecutive MAC Swimmer of the Year award, while Sarah Chrzanowski was named MAC Diver of the Year. EMU finished with 655 points, ahead of second place Ohio 618 and third place Miami 596.
EMU AND THE MAC TITLE: The men’s swimming and diving team has won a league-record 25 MAC Championship titles and six of the past seven championship meets. Head Coach Peter Linn has led the men’s team to 15 titles over his 18 year span at EMU and finished runner-up the other three seasons.
BUFFALO TO HOST 2007 MAC CHAMPIONSHIP: The MAC Championship will be heading to Alumni Arena Natatorium in 2007, as the University at Buffalo will serve as the host for the Men’s MAC Championship meet, Feb. 22-24.
