ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University men’s swimming and diving team fell to the University of Michigan, 156-80, here Friday night at Canham Natatorium.
ANN ARBOR, Mich. — The Eastern Michigan University men’s swimming and diving team fell to the University of Michigan, 156-80, here Friday night at Canham Natatorium.
The Wolverines started strong by taking the top four spots in the first five events before junior Derick Roe took second place in the 50 freestyle. Roe also finished fourth in the 100 freestyle. Michigan swimmers had the top time in every event of the night, helping the Wolverines led 156-33 through 11 events before the meet went to exhibition scoring.
Junior Ethan Crabtree turned in a strong performance, finishing fourth in the 50 freestyle and seventh in the 100 backstroke. Senior Steven Bowling placed fifth place finish in the 200 freestyle.
Also performing well for the Green and White was junior Ryan Fulkerson, who took fifth in both 100 and 200 butterfly races. Junior Adam Wohl placed sixth in both the 100 breaststroke and 200 butterfly.
The Eagles will be in action again Friday, Oct. 19, when they play host to Wayne State University at 6 p.m. EMU will compete again on Saturday, Oct. 20 when Wisconsin-Milwaukee comes to Jones Natatorium for a noon start. Both meets are co-ed.
