Men's Golf Sixth Heading into Final Round of Wolverine Intercollegiate

The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team stands in sixth place in the 14-team Wolverine Intercollegiate heading into Sunday's (Sept. 17) final round at the U-M Golf Course. The annual invitational got off to a late start because of the fog, but all the teams were able to complete Saturday's scheduled 36-holes.

Junior Graham Hill and sophomore Chris Ross lead the Eagles after the second round, holding down an 11th place tied after shooting a 141. Senior Bryan Haase turned in the next best EMU score with a 145 (76-69). Junior Joey Stimac and freshman Marty Jeppesen rounded out the lineup with a 147 (76-71) and a 148 (76-72), respectively.

As a team, the Eagles shot a 574 (292-282) for sixth place. Wisconsin leads the field posting a two round team score of 564 (285-279). Michigan sits in second with a 568, just two strokes ahead of the third place Missouri. Oregon State’s Mitch Gillis is the individual leader by two strokes after firing a 135 (65-70).

The Wolverine Intercollegiate concludes with a final 18 holes Sunday (Sept. 17) beginning with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start.
