MIDLAND, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University softball team dropped a 2-0 decision to Kent State University in another rain delayed game at the Mid-American Conference Tournament Friday night at Currie Stadium. The semifinal game featured the 2006 MAC Player of the Year Lauren Clark and MAC Pitcher of the Year, KSU’s Brittany Robinson. The contest was the final game in a Green and White uniform for seniors Nikki Denman, Katie Grens and Kelly Gulliver.

The Eagles' two loss in the tournament each came to the No. 1 and 2 seeds.

Robinson allowed just two hits while striking out 15 batters, including a rare four strikeout inning in the fourth. She improves to 29-11 and has recorded 400 strikeouts this season.

Junior Michelle Lloyd was also impressive on the mound allowing five hits, while striking out nine batters.

Seniors Denman and Grens accounted for the Eagles’ two hits, both singles.

Kent State scored first in the third inning after a three hit frame led to a 1-0 KSU advantage.

The contest remained 1-0 into the sixth inning when the game went into a rain delay.

The Golden Flashes added another run after the delay on an RBI single to left field.

The Eagles finished the season with a 28-28 overall mark and finished the MAC regular season 14-8. EMU advanced to the semi-finals of the MAC Tournament. The 28 wins, 14 league victories and two MAC Tournament wins were all the programs most since the 1999 season.
