AKRON, Ohio – The Eastern Michigan University women’s swimming and diving team fell to second place on day two of competition at the 2006 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Akron’s Ocasek Natatorium. Madeleine Pilchard claimed her second individual MAC Championship today.
 
Pilchard won the 200-yard freestyle race with a 1:48.74 mark, setting a new pool record.  On day one she finished in first place in the 500-yard freestyle event. Pilchard also won the 200-yard freestyle race last year at the 2005 MAC Championships.
 
The 800-yard freestyle relay team of Alissa Ricard, Katie Benedict, Catherine Lee Ha, and Pilchard finished second. They finished with a 7:31.13 time.
 
 
The Eagles wrap up the 2006 edition of the MAC Championship meet tomorrow with the final round of preliminary heats beginning at 11 a.m. The non-championship rounds of the 1,650 freestyle are scheduled for 5 p.m. and the day three finals will begin at 7 p.m.
