Pereira joined the Eastern Michigan University volleyball staff in the fall of 2017, serving as the program's volunteer assistant coach.
Prior to joining Olson's staff, Pereira served as an assistant coach at Jackson College for three years. In his time there, he worked primarily with the defensive specialists, while also working closely with the head coach to design and implement on-court drills. He was also in charge of statistics and recruiting.
Pereira has also spent time as a coach at a number of local high schools. He spent time as the freshman girls coach at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, as well as the junior varsity coach at Ypsilanti High School.
Before coming to Michigan, Pereira spent six years at Charles E. Shea High School in Pawtucket, R.I. In his time there he served as an assistant coach for three seasons and a head coach, leading the team to a state championship in 2006.
