 Benjamin Kaszeta enters his first season as a volunteer assistant volleyball coach at Eastern Michigan University in 2010.

Kaszeta joins the Eagles after spending the past three seasons as the head coach at Mott Community College in Flint, Mich.

While at Mott, Kaszeta guided the Bears to improvements in each of his three seasons en route to a 30-95 career record. In his first season in Flint, Kaszeta’s team finished with six wins before posting 14 victories during the 2009 campaign. His 2008 and 2009 teams clinched berths in the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) District Tournament.

Well known at the high school and club level, the 32-year old St. Clair Shores, Mich. native was also an assistant coach for Coach Berrington’s Lakeshore Region Youth team in 2010. The team, comprised of girls from the state of Michigan that were born in 1993 and 1994, qualified to take part in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championship in the Wisconsin Dells.

Kaszeta has honed his skills for teaching youth as a counselor at numerous volleyball camps including: the University of Michigan, Mississippi State University, Michigan State University, Concordia University, and the Michigan Elite.

Additionally, Kaszeta currently serves as the coach for the Huron Valley Volleyball 17 National team.

Previously he spent four years working for the Michigan Elite Volleyball Club in Warren, Mich. from 2004-08. During that span, he served as the age 15 and 16 group coordinator, the 16 National Team Coach and the Club Director.

Kaszeta began his volleyball coaching career in 2002 as the varsity coach of Adams High School in Rochester, Mich.

Prior to switching to the volleyball circuit, Kaszeta was an extremely successful cross country and track coach at the high school level. From 2001-07, he garnered eight league championships and a pair of All-State student-athletes as the varsity cross country coach at Stoney Creek High School. He also racked up nine league titles and two regional championships as the head track coach at Oxford High School from 1999-02.

A great prep standout in his own right and a 1995 graduate of Rochester High School, Kaszeta earned 11 varsity letters in cross country, swimming and track.
