Pamela Besteman is the head women's rowing coach at Eastern Michigan University. She spent the past two season as an assistant at EMU, prior to that she was the assistant women's rowing coach at George Mason University.

Besteman joined the George Mason staff in October, 1999, after having been the novice women's rowing coach for the Grand Valley State Crew Club for nine months. She had also served as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's rowing teams at Michigan State University for a year.

Besteman earned her bachelor's degree in physical education with a minor in psychology from Grand Valley State University in August, 1996. There, she competed with the rowing club, both as a rower and a coxswain, earning various medals, including a gold medal as a member of the lightweight women's eight at the 1994 Midwest Championship. She is also a certified Level III coach in United States Rowing.
