Liberty del Rosario, an assistant women's basketball coach at Morgan State University for the past two years, has been named assistant women's basketball coach at Eastern Michigan University, Head Women's Basketball Coach AnnMarie Gilbert announced Dec. 16.

In her first season as an assistant coach at MSU, del Rosario helped guide the Bears to a 17-15 record and a second place finish in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference with a 10-6 mark. As a reward for its season-long efforts, the squad earned the program's first-ever Division I postseason appearance with a trip to the Women's National Invitational Tournament (WNIT).

Del Rosario spent four seasons on the sidelines at Cleveland State University helping the program become a perennial contender in the Horizon League. She first served as the team's director of basketball operations (2006-09) before being promoted to assistant coach for the 2009-10 campaign.

The 33-year old del Rosario helped CSU return to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in three seasons in 2009-10. Cleveland State went 19-14 overall, marking the third straight year the Vikings won 19 contests. Seeded fourth in the league tournament, the Vikings defeated the University of Illinois-Chicago, the top-seeded Phoenix of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and No. 2 Butler University to earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

When hired in 2006-07, del Rosario had the distinction of being the first-ever director of basketball operations in program history. She was responsible for coordinating all the team's administrative duties including travel, meals, summer camps, personal matters and community relations.

While at CSU, she helped coach Kailey Klein, the program's all-time leading scorer with 2,140 points. She was one of just two players in school history to lead the team in scoring in four straight seasons and claims three of the top six single season scoring marks at CSU. Shawnita Garland also picked to the All-Defensive Team under del Rosario's tutelage.

Prior to arriving at CSU, del Rosario served as an assistant women's basketball coach from 2002-06 at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.

While there, del Rosario had a hand in helping the Falcons advance to the NAIA Nationals for the first time in program history in 2006. That team set the school record with 25 wins.

A two-year letterwinner in basketball at Notre Dame College, del Rosario graduated in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in psychology and later earned a master's in education with a specialization in sports management from Cleveland State in 2005.
