Emily Steinmetz is in her second season as the Director of Basketball Operations for Eastern Michigan.

Steinmetz earned four varsity letters for the EMU women’s basketball team from 1995-98 and started 88 games during her four-year career. The Indianapolis, Ind. native was the second player in EMU history to record 800 points and 600 rebounds in her career, and was selected honorable mention All-Mid-American Conference Academic as a senior. Steinmetz ranks highly in several categories in the EMU record book: seventh in rebounds (642), eighth in steals (143), 12th in games played (103) and 15th in scoring (894).

The 28-year-old Steinmetz (5-29-77) was the head girls basketball coach at Scecina Memorial High School in Indianapolis, Ind., from 2000-04. Steinmetz complied a 19-51 record in four seasons for the rebuilding Crusaders.

Steinmetz is single and resides in Ann Arbor. She is pursuing her master’s degree in sports management from EMU with an expected graduation date in 2006.
