Cali Crawford is in her first year as the Eagles’ director of basketball operations after playing collegiate basketball at Madonna University and serving as EMU’s team manager in 2009-10.

Crawford is responsible for coordinating the Eagles’ travel arrangements, directing the summer basketball camp program, supervising the managerial staff, as well as other administrative duties.

A two-year letterwinner for the Crusaders, Crawford played in 64 games ranking second all-time in minutes played per game (32.0) and fourth in assists per game (3.4). She also finished the 2007-08 campaign with 123 assist, the sixth most in the program’s history. For her efforts, she earned the team’s Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Ultimate Competitor Award in 2007-08 after winning the Coaches Award in 2006-07.

Crawford also spent the 2008-09 season as the assistant girls basketball coach at Ladywood High School in Livonia, Mich. She helped the Blazers capture the Catholic League championship that season.

That same year, Crawford worked as an athletics intern at Schoolcraft College in Livonia. There she researched and documented a comparative chart of intercollegiate athletic expenditures for 19 Michigan community colleges and assisted in complying with NJCAA Compliance regulations.

Well versed in basketball knowledge, Crawford worked for the Detroit Skyhawks during the 2007 and 2008 summers. There she directed multi-sport camps for children ages 3-12 and supervised up to 10 coaches.

Prior to playing at Madonna, the Auburn Hills, Mich. native was a standout athlete at Oakland Christian High School. Crawford finished as the second leading scorer in school history with 1,293 career points and fifth all-time in assists with 308. During her senior campaign, Crawford averaged 18.4 points per game.

The 24-year-old Crawford (3-31-86) is a 2008 Madonna University graduate with a bachelor of science degree in sports management. She is also nearing completion of a master of science degree in sports management at EMU.
