Olmy Olmstead is in his third season as the graduate assistant coach for the Eastern Michigan University football team.

A 2004 graduate of Wabash (Ind.) College, Olmstead was a four-year letter winner as a kicker for the nationally ranked Little Giants. He also spent his first two years playing the offensive line before moving to fullback his final two seasons. Olmstead ended his career as one of just three kickers in Wabash history to successfully kick 100 extra points. He also holds the school record for most extra points converted in a game, with nine. A straight-on kicker, Olmstead’s square-toe kicking shoe is on display at the NCAA Hall of Champions.

Following college, Olmstead joined the staff at Wilmington (Ohio) College. He spent the 2004-06 campaigns as a graduate assistant working with the linebackers and running backs. He was promoted to an assistant coach in 2007 to work with the Quakers’ special teams and tight ends.
