Jarvis Adams, a former graduate assistant at Eastern Michigan University, is starting his third year as the defensive cornerback coach at EMU.
During his stay in Ypsilanti, the EMU defense has improved, from a high of 469.6 yards allowed per game in 2004 to a drop of almost 100 yards in 2006, at 388.3 yards per game.
The 26-year-old Adams (3-14-82) has provided expertise on the outside, as EMU’s interceptions totals have increased from just seven in 2004 to 16 in 2007.
Adams is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he played three-years of football. He saw action in 26 games, collecting 127 tackles and three interceptions for the Wildcats. The Tallahassee, Fla. native was selected to The Sporting News Big Ten Conference All-Freshman team in 2001.
