David Ricci enters his first season in 2012 as the defensive quality control coach for the Eastern Michigan University football team. He will work mostly with the team’s defensive line.
Ricci joins the Eagles’ coaching staff after most recently working in 2010 with J. Serra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano, Calif. The Brea, Calif. native has worked with three different high school football teams prior to joining EMU. From 2007-08 Ricci coached at Tesoro High School in Las Flores, Calif. and in 2009 he was at Capistrano Valley High School in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Ricci played football at the University of New Mexico and Long Beach City College where he was named a team captain. After injuries ended his career, Ricci transferred to Arizona State University where he graduated in 1996. Following his graduation from ASU he continued his education at the University of Southern California where he earned his master’s of business administration in 2002.
He was the team captain of his high school football team at Brea-Olinda High School in Brea, Calif.
Ricci and his wife Jennifer have two sons, Jake (15) and Brock (13).
