Trevor Beerman was promoted to interim head coach by Vice President and Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee, Nov. 14, 2025, entering his third season with the program in 2026. Beerman heads into his first year leading the Eagles after serving the past two years as EMU’s recruiting coordinator, while also coaching the outfielders and assisting with the offense.

In his second season with Eastern, Beerman helped guide outfielder Logan Hugo to a prolific senior season in which he was named All-MAC Second Team. Hugo totaled 64 hits and posted a .308 average on the season. His 12 home runs and 62 RBIs finished eighth and fifth in the MAC by value, respectively. Eastern continued its patience at the plate from the 2024 season, ending the 2025 season with the third-fewest strikeouts in the MAC, striking out 377 times. The Eagles produced a .395 on-base percentage under Beerman’s tutelage, ranking fourth in the conference.

He excelled on the recruiting trail in the 2025 offseason as his 2026 transfer class ranked second among transfer portal classes in the MAC and placed in the top 100 nationally according to 64 Analytics.

In his first year with the Eagles, Beerman assisted in coaching a potent offense as the team averaged .300 from the dish, a figure that ranked third in the MAC. The Eagles found the gap often as they hit 99 doubles and 12 triples, both ranking as the second-most in the conference. Eastern also brought discipline to the dish throughout the season, as it totaled the second-least strikeouts in the MAC, fanning just 389 times, while producing a .391 on base percentage, the conference’s third-best in 2024. Once reaching base, Eastern did damage with its feet as the Eagles swiped 78 bases, also slotting third in the conference.

Individually, Beerman aided in mentoring outfielder Kyle Schroedle to a MAC Player of the Week award, March 25. The honor came after he homered three times while recording a 1.538 OPS in 15 at-bats throughout the week. Defensively, Giano Zuccaro was a bright spot for the Beerman's outfielders as he was one of three MAC players to record a perfect fielding percentage with at least 100 chances in 2024.

Beerman arrived in Ypsilanti after serving as the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach at Chatham (Pa.). While at Chatham, Beerman played a large role in breaking the total wins record in consecutive seasons in 2022 and 2023, as well as shattering the total records for hits, doubles, triples, home runs, RBIs, and walks. Beerman was pivotal in the development of Benny Dottle, paving the way for him to become an all-conference shortstop, making him the inaugural first team all-conference player in program history.

Beerman also had a stint with Head Coach Robbie Britt at the University of Charleston (W.Va.), as the Golden Eagles’ assistant coach and recruiting coordinator from Jan.-Nov. 2021. Beerman served as the outfield coach and third base coach in his time at Charleston, and proved to be invaluable in the development of outfielders Hayden Cartt and Colby Johnson, as the two were named Mountain East Conference (MEC) All-Conference First Team members in the 2021 season.

Before Charleston, Beerman was the assistant baseball coach at Hillsdale College where he worked with both the infield and outfield. Beerman worked closely with player development while at Hillsdale and took the lead on its recruiting initiatives in the Ohio territory.

In his first collegiate baseball position, Beerman was the assistant baseball coach at Bluffton University, where he coached all position players, and served as the primary hitting coach. Beerman assisted the head coach in all day-to-day operations, including recruiting, scouting, player development, and game day operations. He also aided in the growth of Parker Reynolds, as he developed into an all-conference catcher for the Beavers.

In his playing days, Beerman was a right-handed pitcher for Division II Malone University. In his senior season, Beerman took the mound 12 times, allowing runs in just four of those appearances. Beerman was a large part of the Pioneers’ two Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament teams, finishing runner-ups both times.

As a student-athlete at Malone, Beerman also coached a multitude of summer travel teams, including the Columbus Storm and Midwest Marlins.

A native of Canal Winchester, Ohio, Beerman graduated from Canal Winchester High School in 2014, where he was an all-conference baseball player, before earning a bachelor’s degree in business from Malone in 2018, and an MBA in Leadership from Bluffton in 2020.

He was married to his wife, Kaela in the fall of 2023.
