PERSONAL: Full name: Dominique Sherrer...Son of Terrence Sherrer, Sr. and Yolanda Sherrer...Born 8-20-90...Finance major...Father, Terrence, is a graduate of Southwestern College and Mother, Yolanda, is a graduate of Pierce College...Has two brothers, Terrence Sherrer Jr. and Dominique Smallwood...EMU: Has earned letters in the last three years...Has played in 21 career games and earned four starts while battling injuries every year...In his career he has rushed for 659 yards on 134 carries for a 4.9 per-rush average...Has also caught six passes for 43 yards and returned 30 kickoffs for 667 yards ...Had a career-long kickoff return of 50 yards at home versus Howard (Sept. 4, 2011)...Both touchdown runs game in the 2011 season, the first a 77-yard sprint against Howard (Sept. 4) and the other a six-yard burst against Alabama State (Sept. 10)... That 77-yard scoring run from scrimmage against Howard was tied for the fifth longest in EMU history and the second longest EMU rush from scrimmage in Rynearson Stadium history...Was singled out for an Iron Eagle Award, given to one player at each position, by the EMU Sports Performance Staff for the highest point total of a seven-week conditioning project during 2011 spring drills...2011: Battled injuries most of the season but still managed to see action in six games, earning three starts...Rushed 94 times for 572yards and two touchdowns, one a 77-yard explosion against Howard in the season opener, Sept. 4, and added a six-yard score against Alabama State (Sept. 10) that proved to be the winning score in a 14-7 EMU victory..That 77-yard run was the longest run for scrimmage for the team...Also caught three passes for 33 yards and returned 10 kickoffs for 223 yards......2010: Saw action in eight games, one as a starter at Virginia (Oct. 23)...Played tailback and also served as a kickoff returner...Rushed 20 times for 47 yards, caught one pass for six yards, and was second on the team in kickoff returns with 20 for 444 yards and a 22.2 yard average...Had five kickoff returns for 106 yards at Ball State (Oct. 16) with four for 91 yards versus Toledo (Oct. 30) and five for 99 yards in the season final against Northern Illinois (Nov. 26)...2009: Earned his second varsity letter after playing in five games, rushing 17 times for 34 yards...Carried 11 times for 21 yards at home against Kent State (Oct. 17)...2008: Played in the first two games of the season before missing the remainder of the year with an injury...Rushed three times for six yards... Awarded a medical hardship waiver from the MAC...HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Colerain H.S. where he played football for Head Coach Kerry Coombs...Earned the Presidential Award for Excellence, the Award of Merit, Honor Award for Excellence, and was a three-year academic honor student...Senior Year: Named first-team All-State, All-Southwest Ohio and All-League...Broke the school record for touchdowns in a season with 24 and also set the record for total points with 144...Rushed for 1,113 yards, the second-highest in school history...Named LaRosa’s Athlete of the Year...Was also a regional qualifier on the 400-meter relay in track...Junior Year: Named All-League and All-District in track as a member of the 400 and 800-meter relay teams.
