Returns as the Eagles’ ace pitcher…2006: Named 2006 Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Year and was an All-MAC first team selection…Also named 2006 ABCA & Rawlings NCAA All-Mideast Region first-team selection…Named to the 2006 All-MAC Academic Team and voted EMU team Pitcher of the Year…Made 17 appearances with 12 starts with a 9-4 record…Finished near the top of every major MAC statistical category…Finished first in ERA (1.97), shutouts (1), opponent’s batting average (.222), second in wins (9) and complete games (4)…Fischer also ranked sixth in strikeouts (103) and innings pitched with 109.2 (6.45 innings pitched per game)…Ranked 14th nationally in ERA (1.97) and 68th in victories…Was named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA (College of Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District IV baseball second team…Named MAC West Division Pitcher of the Week twice during the season for the period ending April 23 and May 14…Started the series opener against Ball State (April 21), after a two hour and 10 minute rain delay, he came back out on the mound and tossed his first career complete-game shutout tallying nine strikeouts, with only four scattered hits, one walk and a total 0.00 ERA to lead Eastern Michigan to a 8-0 victory over the Cardinals…He also started game one of a doubleheader against Toledo and picked up his league-leading ninth victory for the only EMU win during the week with another impressive performance on the mound, tallying nine strikeouts for a total 1.17 ERA with five scattered hits allowing only one run and a walk in 7.2 innings of work in an 11-1 EMU victory over the Rockets...Went 8.0 innings with five strikeouts while limiting Kent State, the top-hitting team in the MAC, to just two runs on six hits in a 2-1 Eagles’ loss in the first round of the 2006 MAC Tournament…2005: Appeared 17 games as a pitcher and infielder... Finished the season with a 1-7 record , 6.23 ERA and 63 strikeouts...
