First-year became one of seven freshmen nationally to record five aces in a three-set match

ROCHESTER, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team dropped a three-set match at Oakland University in the final game of the Golden Grizzlies Invitational, at the OU Credit Union O'rena Saturday, Sept. 12.

The match was highlighted by freshman Olivia Beaudrie (Monroe, Mich./St. Mary Catholic Central) who landed five aces in the three-set match.

How it Happened
SET ONE | Oakland jumped out to control the opening set, posting a .324 hitting percentage on 15 kills and four errors across 34 attempts. Eastern Michigan kept it competitive early — the set saw two lead changes and multiple tie scores — but the Golden Grizzlies pulled away for a 25-19 victory. EMU hit .129 in the set on 10 kills and six errors.

SET TWO | Oakland tightened its grip in the second set, hitting .353 on 14 kills and just two errors. Eastern Michigan again found moments of resistance with two lead changes, but could not sustain the pressure, falling 25-16 while hitting .129 on nine kills and five errors.

SET THREE | The third set was the most competitive of the evening, with five tie scores and three lead changes. EMU improved to .206 hitting on 13 kills and six errors, and pushed Oakland before the Golden Grizzlies closed out the sweep 25-20, hitting .364 in the set. Oakland's hitting efficiency improved in each successive set, finishing at .347 for the match on 46 kills and 11 errors across 101 attempts.
