LAS VEGAS, Nev. (EMUEagles.com) –
Eastern Michigan University President Dr. Brendan Kelly and Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Wetherbee attended the third annual "An Evening With Maxx Crosby" June 26 at Allegiant Stadium, showing support for one of EMU's most accomplished alumni and his growing philanthropic impact.

Hosted by former Eastern Michigan football standout Maxx Crosby and his wife, Rachel, the event raised support for the Maxx Crosby Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on teen substance abuse intervention, youth health and wellness, animal rescue and abuse prevention, and other charitable causes.

President Kelly attended with his wife, Dr. Tressa Kelly. Wetherbee was joined by his wife, Tracy.

The evening brought together community leaders, supporters, professional athletes, and philanthropists to celebrate and advance the Foundation's mission. EMU's presence reflected the University's continued pride in Crosby's accomplishments both on and off the field and its support of his commitment to serving others.

Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson was recognized during the event as the 2026 Maxx Crosby Foundation Community MVP for her contributions to the community and charitable initiatives.

Crosby's connection to Eastern Michigan remains strong through philanthropy and ongoing involvement with the University. In 2023, he and Rachel, a former EMU soccer student-athlete, committed $1 million to EMU Athletics. In 2024, Crosby Field inside Rynearson Stadium was dedicated in their honor following the renovation of "The Factory," which included the removal of the track surface and installation of new turf. In 2025, Crosby expanded his role with EMU Football as Assistant General Manager and Special Assistant to the Athletic Director, supporting program operations, student-athlete development, and alumni engagement.

A four-year letterwinner for the Eagles from 2015-18, Crosby finished his collegiate career with 20 sacks and 41 tackles for loss, ranking among the top defensive players in program history. Selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders, he has developed into one of the NFL's premier defensive players, earning multiple Pro Bowl selections and establishing himself among the league's leaders in sacks and tackles for loss.
