YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University football team brought its spring season to a close Friday, April 17, inside The Factory at Rynearson Stadium as the Eagles held their annual spring game for their 15th and final opportunity before departing campus. In a Green versus White match-up, Team White (offense) defeated Team Green (defense), 27-20.

The game format featured several sections of seven or eight plays for each of the first, second, and third teams, with red-zone and goal-line sessions as well. Additionally, the specialists had their turns with field goal attempts and punting throughout.

Offensively, Noah Kim (Centreville, Va./Westfield/Michigan State/Coastal Carolina) led the quarterbacks as he was 11-of-15 through the air for 163 yards and one touchdown, a 51-yard scoring pass to Nick Devereaux (Troy, Mich./Brother Rice/Davenport), while Jace Stuckey (Fairland, Ind./Triton Central) was 3-of-5 for 58 yards and one score, which came on a 35-yard strike to Santonyo Issac (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Bay Tech). Brogan McCaughey (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier/Yale) saw his first action for the Eagles and was 10-of-15 for 137 yards and two touchdowns as he connected with Nathan Piggott (Troy, Mich./Athens) on a 32-yard scoring pass before hitting Carl Jean-Bart (Lake Alfred, Fla./Evans) for a 59-yard score.

Devereaux led the receivers with four grabs for 91 yards and one score as five different Eagles recorded 30 or more yards receiving, including Harold Mack (Fort Wayne, Ind./Wayne), who had three grabs for 30 yards, while Jean-Bart added a second reception to finish with 63 yards. Joey Mattord (Hartland, Mich./Hartland) was the top rusher on the day with four carries for 13 yards.

While tackling was not permitted, several defenders broke through the line to record sacks as five were recorded in total. The five players credited with one sack included Caleb Coley (Warner Robins, Ga./Houston County/Michigan State), Jonah Flowers (Surprise, Ariz./Valley Vista/Butte), Hector Gonzalez (Monterrey, Mexico/Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School (Ga.)), Milan Colvin (Wichita, Kan./Derby), and Brandon Simmons, Jr. (Glassboro, N.J./Glassboro).

Daniel Hull (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge Senior/Missouri) averaged 50.0 yards per punt as he accumulated 300 yards on six attempts. He placed three punts inside the 20 while seeing two of those kicks downed inside the 2-yard line. Nathan Diebert (Hartland, Mich./Hartland/LSU) was 4-of-6 in field goal attempts with makes from 38, 43, 47, and 48 on the night as well.
