Football Set to Take Flight at 2026 Spring Game Under the Lights

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The wait is almost over. Eastern Michigan University football fans will get their first in-person look at the 2026 team Friday, April 17, when EMU hosts its annual Spring Game at Rynearson Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., with gates opening at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
Fans are encouraged to be part of something bigger by bringing a new or gently used children's book to the game. All donations will support Ypsilanti Community Schools and help stock local classrooms and libraries. Every fan who walks through the gates has a chance to make a direct impact in the community.
The night promises a full celebration of Eagle football and EMU spirit. Arrive early for a limited-edition Eastern Athletics long-sleeve T-shirt or a Block E hard hat, while supplies last. The evening will also include giveaways, postgame autographs, and a game-day atmosphere built to give fans an exciting preview of the season ahead. Additionally, Fans will have the chance to see the live bald eagle up close on the concourse, with opportunities to take photos and learn more about the iconic bird. The concourse will also feature a variety of inflatables, giving younger fans a fun and active space to play throughout the event.
Former standout Dylan Drummond will be the 55th student-athlete inducted into the Ring of Honor at Rynearson Stadium prior to the game. To be included in the Ring of Honor, individuals must have either earned All-American honors from a major publication or played in an official National Football League game. Drummond appeared in nine games for the Atlanta Falcons last season, recording seven receptions for 42 yards, and spent time with the Detroit Lions and New York Giants in 2023. At Eastern Michigan from 2018-22, Drummond played in 48 games and totaled 183 receptions for 2,208 yards and 14 touchdowns. He earned third-team All-MAC honors, was a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete, and received Academic All-MAC recognition.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and remain open until at least 8 p.m. Current 2026 EMU football season ticket holders receive early access beginning at 4:30 p.m. The sale will feature a variety of exclusive team merchandise, with cash, checks, and credit cards accepted.
