MAC Releases 2026 Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll

Eastern is predicted to finish ninth in the regular season
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference released its Baseball Preseason Coaches' Poll for the upcoming 2026 season Wednesday, Feb. 11. The poll, which is voted on by MAC head coaches, sees the Eastern Michigan University Eagles predicted to finish ninth in the regular season.
The RedHawks of Miami University were picked to finish first with six first-place votes and 114 points overall, followed by Kent State University, who garnered four first-place votes and 111 points.
Following Miami and Kent State is Ball State University. The Cardinals earned two first-place votes and 107 points. Toledo grabbed the No. 4 spot with 86 points. Bowling Green, Western Michigan, and Central Michigan are slotted in the No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7 spots, with 83, 65, and 54 points, respectively. Northern Illinois is predicted to finish eighth with 42 points.
Under first-year Interim Head Coach Trevor Beerman, Eastern comes in at No. 9 with 41 points.
The University of Akron is predicted in the No. 10 spot with 40 points, followed by Ohio University with 36 points. UMass rounds out the voting in the 12th spot with 13 points.
The top six teams at the end of the regular season will qualify for the annual MAC Tournament, beginning Wednesday, May 20, in Avon, Ohio, where the champion will punch their ticket to the NCAA Regional round of the playoffs.
Following suit with the regular season voting, Miami led the way with four votes to win the MAC Tournament, followed by Kent State with three votes. Ball State and Toledo each received two tournament championship votes, Bowling Green received one vote.
