Swim and Dive Hosts Ball State Saturday

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swim and dive teams will host Ball State University in Jones Natatorium Saturday, Jan. 24, 1 p.m.

All-Time Against Ball State
The Eagles hold the lead in the all-time series with a 23-15-1 record against Cardinals. Eastern's record when competing at home against Ball State is 14-5, and they have won eight out of the last 10 total meetings. The last time the Eagles won at home against the Cardinals was in the 2021-22 season, 167-133 points.
Last Time Out Highlights
The Eagles last competed against Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, Jan. 16. They were highlighted by four event wins, three in the pool and one from the diving boards. Emma Littrell (Taylor Mill, Ky./St. Henry District) took first place in the 200y freestyle with a time of 1:54.46, Nehir Oz (Istanbul, Turkey/Cevre) earned her win in the 1000y freestyle with a time of 10:27.38, and Tristen Mina (Santa Clara, Calif./The King's Academy) swam the 100y butterfly in 56.84 to take first place. Littrell and Oz each also swam second-place finishes in the 100y freestyle (52.70) and 500y freestyle (5:09.67), respectively. Mina earned a second-place finish in the 200y breaststroke in 2:26.92, along with a third-place finish in the 100y breaststroke, swimming a time of 1:08.87.
On the diving side, Marnie Howard (Bloomington, Ill./Normal Community West) took first place in the one-meter dive with a season-best score of 255.20 points, along with a second-place finish in the three-meter dive, scoring 246.70 points. Also earning a top-three finish in the three-meter was Aisling Gutierrez (New Kent, Va./New Kent), scoring 245.30 points.
