Eagles fell on home field for first time since 2023

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team dropped its season opener to the Big 12 Conference's University of Cincinnati at Scicluna Field, Aug. 14.
Eastern's 4-0 loss Thursday marks its first defeat at home since Oct. 26, 2023, against Miami University after EMU went an undefeated 5-0-3 at Scicluna Field in 2024.
How It Happened
Cincinnati struck first with a penalty kick goal in the 11th minute as UC took a 1-0 lead into halftime, despite Eastern's 6-2 advantage in corner kicks through 45 minutes.
The Bearcats used three goals in a 9:55 span in the second half to take a 4-0 lead through 66 minutes and take complete control of the match.

» Eastern dropped to 0-1-0 overall while Cincinnati is 1-0-0.
» UC held a 19-6 advantage in shots while EMU held a 10-7 edge in corner kicks.
