Football Picked Eighth in MAC Preseason Coaches Poll

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University football team was voted eighth in the 2025 Mid-American Conference's Preseason Coaches Poll that was announced by the MAC today, July 24, in conjunction with the 2025 MAC Football Media Day activities inside Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
Comprised of voting from the league's head coaches, which includes the University of Massachusetts this season, the Eagles earned 68 points, placing them eighth in the 13-team standings. The University of Toledo was selected first with 135 points and seven first-place votes while Miami University was just behind the Rockets in second with 131 points and three first-place votes. The top five included Ohio University (123 points and three first-place votes), the University at Buffalo (115), and Northern Illinois University (94).
The three Michigan came next with Western Michigan University (71 points), EMU, and Central Michigan University (65) voted seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively. Ball State University (41) was voted 10th with both the University of Akron and UMass tying for 11th with 39 points. Kent State University rounded out the teams with 12 points.
Additionally, coaches were asked to vote on which team they felt would win the 2025 MAC Football Championship game with Toledo earning six votes, Miami taking four, and Ohio earning three. The annual championship contest returns to Ford Field Saturday, Dec. 6, and will be aired live on ESPN at noon.
Kicking Off
Once again, this year's MAC Football Media Day will be shown live on ESPN+ from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. today! The production will highlight the league's annual kickoff event as the hosts will visit with all MAC head coaches and several student-athletes throughout MAC Media Day.
Attending from Eastern Michigan will be Head Coach Chris Creighton, senior defensive lineman Jefferson Adam (Ypsilanti, Mich./Washtenaw International/Hocking College/Iowa State) and senior offensive lineman Mickey Rewolinski (Caledonia, Wis./Union Grove). EMUEagles.com will also have full coverage of the event with interviews and releases to be posted throughout the day.
Not only will MAC Football fans around the country be able to watch the live show previewing the upcoming 2025 season, but they will also have the opportunity to interact with the head coaches, student-athletes, and league office regarding media day. Both EMU and the MAC will post updates throughout the day using its X, Instagram, and Facebook feeds. The official Twitter hashtag for the 2025 MAC Football Media Day coverage is #MACtion and #EMUFB. Official tweets will include this hashtag and all media and fans are also asked to use it in their tweets related to the event and when sending questions to their favorite coaches and student-athletes.
