Women's Golf Tied for Third After Day 1 at MAC Tourney

MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team sits tied for third following the opening round of play at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Championships played Sunday, April 20, at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind. The Eagles shot 3-over 301 on the par-72, 6,053-yard course with two players in the top 15.
Kent State University leads the team standings at 1-over 289 while Bowling Green State University is second at 8-over 296. The Eagles are tied with Ohio University for third place with both the University of Akron and host Ball State University tied for fifth after shooting 14-over 302. The 301 strokes for the Eagles rank as the seventh-lowest score for any round played at the MAC Championships while standing as the second-lowest for the first round behind the 2016 squad, who shot 296.
Individually, Savannah de Bock (Ecaussinnes-d'enghien, Belgium/Institut de l'Enfant-Jésus-Lycée/Georgia) is the top Eagle following the first round after shooting 1-over 73, placing in her a six-way tie for ninth place. Angelica Holman (Fort Pierce, Fla./Lincoln Park Academy/Daytona State/Georgia) is just behind her at 2-over 74 and is tied for 15th place while Julianna Go (San Juan, Philippines/St. Jude Catholic School/King) is tied for 21st at 3-over 75. The final two Eagles competing included Erina Tan (Belmont, Western Australia/Mount Lawley Senior), who shot 7-over 79 to tie for 32nd while Mariana Vega (Barranquilla, Columbia/Colegio Karl C. Parrish) sits tied for 41st at 9-over 81.

The second round of action at the MAC Championships is slated for Monday, April 21, with the Eagles in the final groups on the tees as they will play with Kent State and Bowling Green starting at 12 p.m.
