Megan Lupa will become the first Eastern diver to compete in the platform dive at the National Championships in 36 years

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Ten days after placing 10th in the finals at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, Eastern Michigan University freshman diver Megan Lupa will compete at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships in the platform dive, hosted by the Seattle Sports Commission, Washington State University, and the city of Federal Way, Wash., at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center, in Federal Way, Wash., Saturday, March 22, 3 p.m.

Fans can follow Lupa's (Campden, Ontario/West Niagara Secondary) competition live on ESPN+ and keep up with live scores here. Fans interested in attending the meet can purchase tickets here, and access full meet information here

Lupa is just the second diver in Eastern Michigan history to qualify for NCAA nationals in the platform dive and the first since Mugs Cullings (EMU's first NCAA Qualifier) did so 36 years ago in the 1989 season. The reigning Mid-American Conference (MAC) Freshman Diver of the Year punched her ticket to the national championships with a combined score of 480.20 points at the NCAA Zone C Diving Championships, marking a collegiate personal best. The NCAA qualification is the program's 16th all-time and the first under Head Diving Coach Tom Gimm

Additionally, Lupa is the only MAC diver among the 2025 National Qualifiers and one of four MAC student-athletes scheduled to compete at the meet along with swimmers Abigail Daniel (Akron), Zita Szoke (Ohio), and Madeline Padavic (Miami). When it comes to freshmen competing in the platform dive, Lupa is just one of 13 that made the cut countrywide and is the first Eastern diver in program history to make the cut as a freshman, and first since swimmer Delaney Duncan did sot as a rookie in the 100y and 200y breaststroke in 2016.
