YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football program officially welcomed 37 student-athletes to the football program Wednesday, Dec. 3, during the Early Signing Period. All have committed to join the Eagles for the 2026 campaign.

The class includes a mix of 19 defensive, 17 offensive, and one special team players hailing from 15 different states across the United States as well as Canada. Offensively, EMU added six wide receivers, four offensive linemen, four tight ends, two running backs, and a quarterback. On the defensive side of the ball, the Eagles welcome seven defensive linemen, seven defensive backs, and five linebackers.

"This truly is a huge day for Eastern Michigan Football and all the young men and their families who are joining us today," said Head Coach Chris Creighton. "I do want to remind Eagle Nation that today is the day that Elijah Berman would have signed his papers. We remember him and will forever consider him part of our Eastern Michigan Football family. This class is special. It is our largest class, and it is uber talented with guys who have great character. Three state championships have already been won this year, with a good chance of more to come this month. Well over half the class will start with us this January."

The highly anticipated class features 28 student-athletes who will be "true" freshmen next season. A total of 28 signees earned a three-star ranking from one of the national recruiting services. The class also features the signing of 27 student-athletes (18 high school, 9 JUCO) who are enrolled in classes for the upcoming winter semester.

In its ninth year, the Early Signing Period was approved by the NCAA in May 2017. The early signing period allows high school seniors a 72-hour window in December to sign with the school of their choice. It comes about two months before National Signing Day, which is Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026.
