Running back surpassed 100 yards rushing and receiving in the season finale versus WMU
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University football's Dontae McMillan was named the Mid-American Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today, Dec. 1.
McMillan (Seattle, Wash./Chief Sealth/Weber State) saved his best for last as he posted several career-highs in his final collegiate contest against Western Michigan, Nov. 25, including total yards (237), touchdowns (2), and receiving yards (126). McMillan ran for 111 yards on 11 carries with one score to post his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season while grabbing four catches for 126 yards to record his first 100-yard receiving game as a collegiate player.
The only player in program history, the lone player in the MAC this year, and just the second in the FBS in 2025 to record over 100-yards rushing AND receiving in the same game, he averaged 15.8 yards per touch against the Broncos as he brought his season rushing total to 1,014 yards to become the 12th Eagle to run for 1,000+ yards in a single season and the first since 2022 (Samson Evans, 1,166).
Additionally, McMillan, who recorded two catches (50 and 48) that surpassed his career-high for a game after catching for 46 yards at Buffalo earlier this year, was one of only three running backs in the MAC in 2025 to surpass the 1,000-yard mark and the only player to record over 300 yards receiving (375).
Eastern Michigan turns its attention to the future with National Signing Day on Dec. 3 and the opening of the transfer portal in early 2026.
