Volleyball Swept in Rivalry Affair at CMU

The Eagles return home to face the Kent State Golden Flashes Thursday-Friday
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team was swept by Central Michigan University, 3-0, on the road at McGuirk Arena Tuesday, Oct. 7.
How it Happened
SET ONE | The Eagles fell behind early, dropping the first set, 25-21. Central Michigan grabbed the advantage for good at 17-16 in a set that was tied up two times before the Chippewas took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET TWO | Eastern fell in the second set, 25-16, digging a 2-0 deficit in the match. Eastern Michigan trailed by as many as 10 points as Central Michigan grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was tied up two times before the Chippewas took over the lead.
SET THREE | EMU couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Eagles dropped the first point and never took the lead before falling in the set, 25-14.

» Eastern's record shifted to 8-10 (0-5 MAC) while Central Michigan's improved to 4-13 (1-4 MAC).
» Ava Siefke's (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) eight kills led the team, marking her 15th time doing so this season.
» Ashlynn Belcher (Marengo, Ohio/Highland/Old Dominion) led the team in assists for the 18th time this season as she dished 15.
» Surabhi Srinivasan (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Jerome) led the team in digs and aces, posting eight and two, respectively.
Historical Notes
» The match marked the 102nd between the Eagles and Chippewas. Overall, Eastern holds a 31-71 mark against the Chippewas and a 15-30 mark when facing them in Mt. Pleasant.
