Cross Country Preps for MAC Championships

The men’s race begins at 11 a.m., followed by the women at 12 p.m.
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University cross country programs travel to Amherst, N.Y. to compete in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Cross Country Championships Saturday, Nov. 1.
The men's 8k will start at 11 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at 12 p.m. The meet is hosted by the University at Buffalo and will be held at Audobon Golf Course.

Last Time at the MAC Championships
Both the men's and women's teams placed third in the conference at last year's meet, with returners Sam Peterson (Charlevoix, Mich./Charlevoix), and Ronan Codyre (Auckland, New Zealand/Macleans College), earning second-team honors. Peterson finished the 8k in 24:30.1 (8th), and Codyre finished in 24:37.3 (11th). Ty Dailey (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), rounded out the Eagle's top-three finishers for the men, with a time of 24:44.4 (15th).
On the women's side, Paige Marchant earned first-team honors, finishing fourth in 20:31.8. Returners Liv Hatch (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso), Lucy Jones (Haverhill, England/Normanhurst School), Cara Weber (Union, Ky./Larry A. Ryle), and Frankie Moore (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills), also competed in the 6k.
Last Time Out
Eastern hosted the EMU Fall Classic at Hudson Mills Metropark in Dexter, Mich., Oct. 24. The men's team saw Ben Mussen (Plymouth, Mich./Plymouth), and Drew Graves (Shelby Township, Mich./Henry Ford II), compete, finishing the 5k in 17:01.30 and 17:29.60, respectively. On the women's side, Moore finished with a time of 19:14.80.

The Eagles will next compete at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional Meet in Evansville, Ind. on Friday, Nov. 14.
