Mason Earns Two Silver Medals at 2024 Summer Paralympics

Mason is the most decorated Olympian or Paralympian in EMU history with five Paralympic Medals
PARIS, France (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University women's track & field alumni Brittni Mason completed her second Paralympic Games, earning two silver medals in the T47 100m dash and T47 200m dash, respectively, Sept. 3 and Sept. 7, inside Stade de France, the site of all athletics events at the 2024 Summer Paralympics.
Mason kicked off her second Paralympic Games with the T47 100m dash prelims, where she punched her ticket to the finals, earning a second-place finish in 12.18. In the finals, Mason raced to second once again, this time in 12.10.
The former Eagle went on to finish fourth in the 200m T47 prelims in 25.61, again advancing to the final heat. There, she clocked in at 25.18, earning her second silver medal of the games.
Mason is now the proud owner of five Paralympic Medals, making her the most decorated Olympian or Paralympian in Eastern Michigan history. She previously earned two silver medals at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in 2020 in the 100m and 200m T47, before capturing the first Paralympic Gold Medal in Eastern Michigan history in the mixed 4x100m relay.
Mason was a four-time All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) selection during her time in Ypsilanti, as she earned first team accolades three times and second team once. She played a pivotal role in the program record-setting 4x100m relay team, who clocked in at 44.65 at the 2019 NCAA East Regional Championships, May 23-25. Also in the 2019 outdoor campaign, Mason's 4x100m relay team ran to a first-place finish and broke a MAC Outdoor Championships Record as they finished in 45.04.
Mason was also a performer in the classroom setting, as she raked-in five Academic All-MAC honors in her career, as well as a MAC Distinguished Scholar Athlete nod (2018), an award presented to the best of the All-MAC and Academic All-MAC honorees from each conference sport.
