Eastern Soccer Tallies Fourth Clean Sheet in Scoreless Draw Against Toledo

Eagles unbeaten at home through five matches for first time since 2014

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team battled the University of Toledo to a scoreless draw Thursday, Sept. 26 at Scicluna Field, marking the squad's fourth clean sheet of the 2024 season.
The Eagles have found success on their home turf, going unbeaten through its first five matches at Scicluna Field for the first time since 2014.
How It Happened
Sophomore Olivia Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) fired a match-high five shots with two on-target attempts to lead EMU's offensive efforts as neither team was able to score.
Both defenses were stout throughout the contest, but senior Chloe Rajewski (Midland, Mich./Midland) was able to get off a clean shot from 15 yards out that was saved in the 80th minute to highlight the match's chances.
Redshirt sophomore Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) made two saves to earn her fourth clean sheet of the season.
Toledo led in shots by a 14-11 margin while Eastern Michigan led in corners by a 5-4 margin.

» Eastern moved to 4-4-2 (0-1-2 MAC) on the year while Toledo moved to 3-5-2 (0-2-1 MAC) for the season.
» Holland recorded her fourth clean sheet of the season and fifth of her career. Four clean sheets in a season is the most by EMU since 2018.
» Sophomore Sarah Van Euwen (Avon Lake, Ohio/Avon Lake) and Scarlett Thomas (Sterling Heights, Mich./Utica Academy/Missouri) each played 90 minutes, marking Van Euwen's ninth full game of the season and Thomas' sixth.
