Eastern Soccer Shuts Out Ball State in Rainy Road Match

Eagles tallied fifth clean sheet of season in scoreless draw
MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team battled Ball State University and consistent rainfall Sunday, Sept. 29 at Briner Sports Complex, in a 0-0 draw, which marked the squad's fifth clean sheet of the 2024 season.
How It Happened
A 13th-minute attempt from sophomore Cameryn Susey (Westerville, Ohio/Olentangy Berlin) earned one of the EMU's seven corner kicks to highlight Eastern's first-half offensive attacks.
Sophomore Olivia Sipsock (Medina, Ohio/Medina) fired a match-high five shots with three on-target attempts to lead EMU as neither team was able to score.
Both defenses were stout throughout the contest as redshirt sophomore Ella Holland (Dunwoody, Ga./Dunwoody/Samford) made three saves to earn her fifth clean sheet of the season.
EMU led in shots by a 13-12 margin while BSU led in corners by an 11-7 margin.

» Eastern moved to 4-4-3 (0-1-3 MAC) on the year while Ball State moved to 6-4-1 (1-2-1 MAC) for the season.
» Holland recorded her fifth clean sheet of the season and sixth of her career. Five clean sheets in a season is the most by EMU since 2018.
