MAC Releases Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll and All-MAC Team

The Eagles are set to open the 2024 season against SIUE Friday, Aug. 30, 10 a.m.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Mid-American Conference (MAC) released its 2024 Preseason Volleyball Coaches Poll and All-MAC Team Monday, Aug. 26.  
 
Coming in first with 11 first-place votes and 121 points was Western Michigan University, who also topped the MAC Tournament Champions voting as well with nine. Coming in second place was Bowling Green State University with one first-place vote, 102 points, and two votes to win the MAC Tournament. Ball State University rounded out the top-three as they were selected third with 98 points and received one vote to finish the season as tournament champions.
 
Spots four through six belong to the University at Buffalo (4th - 92 points), Ohio University (5th - 84 points), and the University of Toledo (6th - 79 points), respectively.
 
Eastern rival Central Michigan University slotted seventh with 50 points, followed by the Huskies of Northern Illinois University in eighth with 49 points. The University of Akron was selected to finish ninth, collecting 48 points.
 
Miami University is predicted to finish 10th with 32 points. Kevin Foeman's Eagles were slotted 11th with 22 points. Kent State University was selected to finish 12th with 15 points.

The Eagles are set to open their 2024 season at the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by Indiana University-Indianapolis at the "The Jungle" in Indianapolis, Ind., Friday-Saturday, Aug. 30-31. Eastern will open the tournament against Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Friday, 10 a.m.
