Volleyball Announces 2024 Schedule

The regular season will begin Aug. 30 as the Eagles are slated for 32 regular season contests
FULL 2024 SCHEDULE
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University and second-year Head Volleyball Coach Kevin Foeman has revealed the Eagles' 2024 volleyball schedule Monday, July 15.
The Eagles are set for 32 regular season matches. 13 of which will take place at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, and 19 of which will be played on the road. Eastern will venture outside of Mid-American Conference play often, as they will face 14 institutions outside of the MAC. Post season action will begin Nov. 22 with the MAC Tournament.
After an exhibition with Hillsdale College at home, Aug. 24, the Eagles will fly into the regular season beginning with the Hampton Inn Invitational, hosted by Indiana University-Indianapolis, Aug. 30-31. Eastern will play two matches, Aug. 30, first against SIUE, 10 a.m., and next against Valparaiso University, 5 p.m. The next day, the Eagles will play the host of the tournament, IU Indy, 4 p.m.
Next, EMU will travel west to face Washtenaw County rival, the University of Michigan Wednesday, Sept. 4, 7 p.m.
Eastern is slated to open the home portion of its regular season with the EMU Tournament, Friday-Saturday, Sept. 6-7. The Eagles will welcome opponents from George Washington University, Oakland University, and Marshall University. The Green and White will open the tournament Friday night, with a 6:30 p.m. matchup versus George Washington, followed by two matches on Saturday against Marshall, 3 p.m., and Oakland, 7 p.m., respectively.
Following the EMU Tournament, the Eagles will take on another tourney with the Comfort Inn-Vitational, hosted by the Eagles of Morehead State University in Morehead, Ky., Friday-Saturday, Sept. 13-14. Their three-match slate in Morehead includes matchups with the University of Evansville, 1 p.m., and Morehead State, 7 p.m., on Friday, and a contest against Duquesne University Saturday, 11 a.m.
Before hitting the road again, Eastern will return to Ypsilanti for one match against Michigan State University Monday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m.
Before beginning MAC play, the Eagles will trek southwest to Fort Wayne, Ind. For their final regular season tournament of 2024 with the Purdue Fort Wayne Invitational Presented by Hyatt Place Friday-Saturday, Sept. 20-21. Eastern is set for a three-match schedule in Indy, first matching up with Indiana State University Friday, 4:30 p.m. Saturday will entail two contests for EMU. They first take on Saint Francis University (Pa.), 1:30 p.m., before facing tournament-host Purdue Fort Wayne later that day, 7 p.m.
The Eagles will battle with the Golden Flashes of Kent State University to open MAC play, with competitions in back-to-back days in Kent, Ohio, Thursday-Friday, Sept. 26-27. Both matches will start at 6 p.m.
Next, EMU will head up-state for a rivalry match against Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant Tuesday, Oct. 1, 6 p.m.
Two consecutive contests against Miami University will follow for the Eagles, as they will first battle the RedHawks at the home in Ypsilanti Friday, Oct. 4, 6 p.m., before facing off again the next day, 3 p.m.
Bowling Green State University will follow the RedHawks for the Eagles, as they will make a quick pit stop in Bowling Green for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Falcons Thursday, Oct. 10, before crossing I-75 for a match against the University of Toledo Rockets the next day, Oct. 11, 6 p.m.
After returning home from Ohio, EMU will open a season-long four-match homestand, Oct. 17-26. Eastern will first take on the Huskies from Northern Illinois University Thursday, Oct. 17, 6 p.m., followed by a rivalry matchup with defending MAC regular season and tournament champions, Western Michigan University Friday, Oct. 18, 7:30 p.m.
The Ohio Bobcats will travel to Ypsilanti for the final two contests of Eastern's homestand. The first match between the two institutions will take place Friday, Oct. 25, 6 p.m., with the second following Saturday, Oct. 26, 4 p.m.
Eastern is set to open the month of November with two matches against Ball State University, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 1-2. Friday's match is set for a 6 p.m. first serve while Saturday's will begin at 4 p.m.
EMU will play three of its five final regular season matches at home. The Eagles will face CMU for the second time in 2024 as they welcome the Chippewas to Ypsilanti Tuesday, Nov. 5, for a 6 p.m. start time.
Following the CMU matchup is a pair of matches against the University of Akron Zips, Friday-Saturday, Nov. 8-9. Friday's matchup will start at 6 p.m. with Saturday's beginning at 4 p.m.
The Eagles will conclude the 2024 regular season in western New York with two matches versus the University at Buffalo Friday-Saturday, Nov. 15-16. Friday's first serve will go off at 6 p.m. with the final regular season match starting at 4 p.m.
Eastern aims to begin its post season campaign with the MAC Tournament, Friday-Monday, Nov. 22-25. The site is to be determined as the winner of the regular season will host the tournament. The Eagles last made the tournament in the 2018 season, coming away as champions after beating Miami in five sets, 3-2.
