Baseball Lands Five On CSC Academic All-District List

Nick Chittum, Blake McRae, Logan Hugo, Glenn Miller, and Cory Taylor each earned the honor

GREENWOOD, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Five Eastern Michigan University Baseball student-athletes earned College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District distinction, the organization announced Tuesday, June 4.
 
The 2023-24 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. In order to receive the award, student-athletes were required to post a minimum 3.50 cumulative GPA while competing in 90% of the team's contest. For pitchers, they must have totaled at least 17 appearances or 25 innings pitched.  
 
Earning the award this season for the Eagles was Nick Chittum (Grosse Ile, Mich./Grosse Ile), Blake McRae (Armada, Mich./Romeo/Lansing C.C.), Logan Hugo (Essexville, Mich./Essexville), Glenn Miller (Pentwater, Mich./Pentwater/Spring Arbor), and Cory Taylor (Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville).
 
McRae led all Eastern honorees with a 3.88 cumulative GPA, followed by Hugo, who posts a 3.86. Taylor compiled a 3.72 throughout his collegiate career, while Chittum notched a 3.63. Miller rounded out the Eagles on the list as he totaled a 3.60 in his time at EMU.
 
Chittum receives the award after earning MAC Academic honors in 2023 and 2022, while Hugo, Miller, and Taylor garnered the award following their respective academic all-MAC seasons in 2023.
