YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track and field programs will hit the road once more, as they will compete at the Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University at the Paul Derr Track & Field Facility Thursday-Saturday, March 28-30.

Last Time Out: at Clyde Hart Classic, March 22-23
Four Eagles recorded marks that helped place them in the top three of the standings in their respective events, including three by the men and one by the women. On the track, Almighty Williamson (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor/Barton CC) raced to a time of 13.85 to finish second in the 110m hurdles while Gabe Singh (Toledo, Ohio/Sylvania Northview/Oakland) was also second in the 400m hurdles as he ran a time of 54.21. The final men's top three finish came in the long jump where Formula Thompson (St. Catherine, Jamaica/Jamaica College/Nebraska) leaped to a mark of 7.53m (24-08.50) for second place while also placing his name on the program's all-time top 10 list at No. 10.

On the women's side, Mariia Yelanska (Dnipro, Ukraine). took third in the triple jump as she bounced her way to 12.46m (40-10.50), a mark that ranks her No. 7 in program history.

Along with the marks attained by Yelanska and Thompson, four other marks earned placement in the program's all-time top 10, including three from the women and one from the men. For the women, Cadwell posted a major improvement to her own school record in the discus as she sent the dish out to 48.31m (158-06) to place sixth on the day. Her previous record, set in 2023, was 46.31m (151-11), which sees her toss today measure two meters better.
 
Staying in the field, Fleur van der Linden (Drunen, Netherlands/d'Oultremont College) finished eighth in the pole vault as she cleared a best of 3.85m (12-07.50) to add her name to the program's outdoor list at No. 10. The final women's top 10 mark came on the track with the quartet of Alyson Davis (Summerfield, N.C./Weaver Academy for Performing and Visual Arts)Saraiah Walkes (Manatee County, Fla./The-Out-of-Door-Academy)Makiya Worthy (Federal Way, Wash./Federal Way/St. Martin's/Oakland), and Josephine Oloye (Iwaro-Oka, Nigeria/Geomi Secondary/Tayelolu Memorial) running 45.49 to finish sixth in the 4x100m relay, the No. 10 time in EMU history.
 
On the men's side, freshman Jake McEachern (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comprehensive) launched the hammer out to 59.92m (196-07) to finish fifth in the event and score the No. 8 mark in program history.

Up Next
A portion of the Eagles will head west for the Jim Click Invitational, hosted by the University of Arizona Thursday-Saturday, April 4-6. The remainder of the team will stay in the Mitten State to compete at the Spartan Invitational, hosted by Michigan State University Friday-Saturday, April 5-6.
