Volleyball Lands Four on CSC Academic All-District List

GREENWOOD, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University volleyball student-athletes Hannah Blaney, Kendal Bonney, Abby Stanford, and Maddie Stayer were named to the College Sports Communicators Women's Volleyball Academic All-District team, the organization announced Tuesday, Dec. 17.
The 2024 Academic All-District® Volleyball teams, selected by CSC, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To make the list, student-athletes had to post a cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50 on a 4.0 scale. Participation wise, student-athletes must have competed in 90% of the team's total matches played or have started at least 66% of the team's total matches played.
Blaney (Saline, Mich./Saline/Rhode Island) made the list via her 4.00 GPA while playing in all of the team's 32 matches. Bonney's (Pioneer, Ohio/North Central/Ashland) accolade comes after posting a 3.75 GPA while seeing action in 30 contests. Stanford (Zanesville, Ohio/Tri Valley/Ashland) earned the honor with a 4.00 GPA and started 24 of the 32 total matches. Stayer (Mentor, Ohio/Mentor/Southern Miss./Jacksonville State) currently holds a 3.70 GPA and played in 31 matches.
Stanford's selection marks her second consecutive as she was also named to the prestigious list following the 2023 season. Blaney, Bonney, and Stayer's honors mark their first since donning the Block E.
