Swim and Dive Preps to Host Bowling Green

The meet will begin at 5 p.m. at the Jones Natatorium on EMU's main campus
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan swim and dive team will host its second home meet of the season as the Eagles are slated to welcome the Falcons of Bowling Green State University to Jones Natatorium, Friday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m.

Last Time Out: at Akron, Jan. 19
Eastern got off to a great start as it captured its first, first-place finish of the evening in the second event of the night, the 1,000-yard freestyle, where Ali Kudo (Guelph, Ontario/John F. Ross Collegiate Vocational) claimed the top spot in a personal-best time of 10:09.03. Kudo also claimed gold later in the meet in the 500y freestyle in 4:54.98.
Emma Littrell (Taylor Mill, Ky./St. Henry District) had a strong meet as she notched two personal-best times in the 200y freestyle and 500y freestyle, finishing the events in 1:54.35 (2nd) and 5:10.72 (4th), respectively.
After a strong showing at the University at Buffalo Diving Invite, Jan. 12-13, Eastern's divers picked up where they left off as they claimed the one, two, and three spots in both the 1m and 3m dives.
Among others, Camryn Hughes (London, Ontario/Sir Frederick Banting Secondary) stood out, placing first in each event with 298.00 points in the 3m and 276.35 in the 1m. Hughes missed a personal-best score by just 1.90 points in the 3m as her all-time top performance in the event is 299.90.

The Eagles will celebrate their seniors at the annual EMU Senior Extravaganza, Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m., inside Jones Natatorium. The Eagles will take on one another in a Green versus White non-scoring intrasquad scrimmage, along with honoring their seniors via a senior slideshow.
