Swim and Dive Set to Compete Together for First Time in 2024

The Eagles will face the Akron Zips Friday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. inside Ocasek Natatorium in Akron, Ohio
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swim & dive team is slated to join forces for the first time in 2024 as it is set to take on the University of Akron Zips Friday, Jan. 19, at 5 p.m. inside Ocasek Natatorium in Akron, Ohio.
Meet Information
There will be no live stats for the meet, however fans can follow along with all the in-meet action via a live stream. A post-meet recap will be posted to EMUEagles.com following the conclusion of the competition, along with a PDF of the final results.
Last Time Out
Eastern's swim team last competed at the Denison Invitational, hosted by Denison University in the Trumbull Aquatic Center in Granville, Ohio, Nov. 30-Dec. 2. After three days of competition, the Eagles secured a fourth-place finish, scoring 1,235.5 points. The Green and White saw great individual success at the meet, with nearly every Eagle securing a personal-best time over the three days.
The Eastern divers last saw the boards at the University at Buffalo Diving Invite, Jan. 12-13. While the meet had no team scoring, EMU divers soared into the finals as individuals with Camryn Hughes (London,Ontario/Sir Frederick Banting Secondary) and Keira Veltigian (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) each making the finals in both the 1m and 3m dive. Hughes placed seventh in the 3m finals with a score of 271.65 and 10th in the 1m finals, posting 229.55. Veltigian slotted sixth in the 1m finals, notching 250.55 points, while finishing eighth in the 3m finals, scoring 271.05.

The Eagles will head home for their next meet as they are set to face the Bowling Green State University Falcons Friday, Jan. 26, at 5 p.m. inside Jones Natatorium.
