Diving Places Four Inside Top 10 at UB Diving Invite

Rebekah Knapp, Ciara Wheeler, Keira Veltigian and Camryn Hughes each earned top 10 finishes
BUFFALO, N.Y. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University dive team competed as individuals at the University at Buffalo Diving Invite, Friday-Saturday, Jan. 12-13. The Eagles placed four student-athletes in the top 10 rankings in both the 1-meter and 3-meter dives.
Beginning with the 3-meter dive, Eastern saw three divers crack the top 10 as Rebekah Knapp (Mesa, Ariz./Skyline) paced the Eagles, finishing in fifth with a score of 280.15 points. Knapp was trailed by Camryn Hughes (London, Ontario/Sir Frederick Banting Secondary School) who placed seventh, scoring 271.56. Graduate student Keira Veltigian (Oxford, Mich./Oxford) would closely follow Hughes as she placed eighth with 271.05.
Ciara Wheeler (Johnston, Iowa/Johnston) would carry the torch for the Eagles in the 1-meter, slotting fourth with 256.25 points. Hughes and Veltigian found themselves in the top 10 again as the duo put up 250.55 and 229.55 points, respectively.
