YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University tennis team took to the courts at The Chippewa Club Saturday, Sept. 23, in a Green-White scrimmage on a beautiful fall day.
Under first-year Head Coach Ryan Kucera, the Eagles enjoyed a warm-up period before getting into doubles action with a pair of matches happening simultaneously. After the doubles matches, the teams played four singles matches, respectivley.
"The green/white scrimmage was a fantastic day," Kucera said. "Everyone has been training hard this preseason, and it was great to get out and compete. Both teams pushed one another, and it gives us great momentum going into our fall competition season!"
Green Team
The green team came out victorious in the scrimmage as the group included juniors Sabina Brichakova (Cheb, Czech Republic/Gymnázium Jana Blahoslava), Vidisha Reddy (Hyderabad, India/Villa Marie PennWest Edinboro), and Prerna Vichare (Mumbai, India/Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics), and sophomore Daniella Shved (Holon, Israel/ORT Holon).
White Team
The white team included seniors Andrea Quiroz (Lima, Peru/La Molina 1278/Alcorn State) and Linda Eloundou Nga (Yaounde, Cameroon/Augustine Meyou/New Mexico Military Academy), sophomores Regina Mendez (Los Cabos, Mexico/Picacho McGregor) and Wanyi Zhang (Bejing, China/Crnjanski Gimnzija), and freshman Ksyusha Saenko (Voronezh, Russia/Gymnasium 2).
