Eastern Rowing Set to Hold Open Tryouts

Tryouts are open to all EMU students and will be held Sept. 8-22
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University rowing program will hold open tryouts, Sept. 8-22, Head Coach Kemp Savage announced today, Aug. 22. The tryouts are open to all EMU full-time female students who are excited about trying a new sport, meeting new people, and becoming a member of the Eagles. No prior experience is necessary.
Ahead of tryouts, interested students need to attend one of three informational meetings, two of which will be held in person and one via Zoom. The meeting schedule is:
Monday, Aug. 28 - 7 p.m. - Halle 300
Tuesday, Aug. 29 - 7 p.m. - Halle 300
Wednesday, Aug. 30 - 7 p.m. - ZOOM
To attend the Zoom meeting, interested students should reach out to Assistant Coach Delaney McGuire at mccgui11@emich.edu to obtain the Zoom link.
Prior to tryouts, interested students must:
1. Bring proof of a medical physical by a physician completed within the last six (6) months.
2. Bring proof of health insurance coverage and a photocopy of the insurance card (front and back).
3. Must fully complete the initial health appraisal and provide relevant medical records.
4. Attend sickle cell testing at the George Gervin GameAbove Center, Sept. 5, at 5:30 p.m.
5. Be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at Eastern Michigan University.
