YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University rowing team and Head Coach Kemp Savage are excited to announce numerous summer camp offerings that the program will host in the coming months.
EMU will offer a "High Performance Camp" June 13-16. This camp is designed to build rowing skills in small boats (2-, 4+) and 8's, encourage a competitive environment, and bring together athletes from different schools and clubs. Campers will stay overnight in EMU dorms, though there is a commuter option if you live locally. Camper's will get to experience 2-3 water sessions daily as well as coached discussions on various topics. The camp costs $1,200 ($975 if you choose the non-lodging option) and includes all meals and camp t-shirt.
The program will also host a trio of "Learn to Row" camps, June 28, July 29, and Aug. 23, respectively. This camp is for those in grades 9-12 who want to learn to row. Campers will learn to row on a rowing machine, and spend time rowing on Ford Lake with the Eastern Michigan Rowing Coaches. Campers will also have the opportunity to learn more about the sport and talk with current student-athletes. Registration for any of the three "Learn to Row" camps are $115 each and include lunch and camp t-shirt.

The EMU Boathouse is located at 10049 Textile Rd., Ypsilanti, MI 48197.
